  1. Indian idol of worship:

If this is the criteria then how so many idols far away from reality are taken for worshiping?

E.g. Shantoshi Maa, Amba Maa, Shitala Maa, Four handed Vishnu, Five Headed Shiva, four headed Brahman, Elephant headed Ganesh, Hanuman a Vaa-Nara, Indra, Yamah and a lot more!!

    Vedas and Upanishats.

If we go through the Vedas we would soon realize that there existed a tradition to worship natural elements. Fire, Wind, Earth, Sun, Moon, Rain, water and what not? These natural elements do really exist. Their characteristic is also a reality.

e.g. Fire God: Fire was a main God which is inherent in wood, humans, all other living creatures, under the sea, under the earth, in the sky, in the Sun.

Fire produces terror when appears through lightening. Fire burns woods through wood-fire. Fire comes out from the top of volcano mountain and creates hazards. Fire becomes very hot as the Sun in summer. Fire comes in the form of heavy rains and floods, etc… that is why Fire is Rudra. "Rudra’s body is made of Fire" says Rig-Veda.

In short, the elements and their characteristics are the part of reality and they do physically exist in one or other form. Progressively they got symbolized as a part of life and literature.

Philosophical beliefs were got associated with symbolization and we found pleasing form of symbolized Gods. E.g. Fire got him self exploded from the Brahma (SAT the eternal) that is why its name is Braahman. Cosmic form of Fire is God Shiva being worshiped in egg shaped form (Brahma-a’nd) better known as Shiva-Lingam which is having egg-shape of the Cosmos or the Cosmos itself as Vishva Murti. Vedic school of thought of philosophy is known as Braahman. We better know the Vedic Dharma as Braahman Dharma. Braahmana the Agni was the main God which has been most extensively praised in Rig-veda. The natural events and human events have become basic narrative source in Upanishats and Purana. We can realize and understand better through old Upanishats like Isha, Shvetashvatar and old Purana like Vayu Puranam having un-Paninian Sanskrit language.

  4. I do agree with the fact that structure of Shivalingam is same like a male organ inside a female vagina. But here the meaning is not vulgar. Here the meaning is that Shivalingam is the symbol of pure pleasure, which is offcoarse on earth, the sexual pleasure.
While having intercourse there is a mixing of extreme feelings of a man and a woman.Just think by using our body we are giving pleasure to another person. But even then we are self centralized.
Moksha means to attain a state when we dont care or we don't want anything. The Same state comes when we are during an intercoarse.
So according to Occult Science ,Shivalingam is the state of "Paramananda"or the ultimate pleasure.
Hindus worship Gods to attain "Moksha" which means to have saturation from the desires of the world. While having intercoarse the same state comes when we are concentrating on only one thing-Giving pleasure and taking pleasure.Intercoarse is done between two persons but actually there are four living matters are involved in this. Two living bodies and two living souls. That adds as 2+2=4,which symbolises the four direction-the North, the East, the West and the South.-abhijatya@gmail.com

  8. Meaning of Shiv ling based on Vedic sources and commentary of Vedic sages such as Swami Vivekanand, Swami Sivanand and Shri Ram Sharma Acharya of Gayatri Parivar(Haridwar).

'Linga' in Sankrit means form or mark and it is shaped like an egg and represents the ‘Brahmanda’ or the cosmic egg. Thus it represents elliptical form of divinity.
A glance at the image of Shiva Lingam shows there is a pillar with three marks and a disc beneath it called 'Peetham' and with a coiling cobra snake around the Pillar and shows its fangs above the pillar.
Shiva Lingam represents the totality of the Cosmos and the Cosmos, in turn, being represented as a Cosmic Egg. Again an egg is an ellipsoid depicting with no beginning, nor end.
Shiva being worshipped as Linga means the Consciousness in its primodal form where consciousness is entering into the Eternal Energy (Shakti).

Base of the ligna is called 'Peetham' and Coiled Cobra snake represents the 'Kundalini' shakti or feminine principle of the divinity whom we refer as Mother goddess. Three rows on pillar represents 'Brahma', Vishnu and Mahesh - different aspects of the divinity.
When un-manifest energy begins to manifest itself, the first form is always the Linga. The word Linga means the form. Why we are referring to it as the form is: the first form in the existence is always a Linga. Linga means a perfect ellipsoid.
The first form of creation is an ellipsoid and final form before dissolution is also an ellipsoid.

Thus the first form is a Linga and the final form before dissolution is also a Linga. If you become meditative, your energies will naturally take the form of a Linga.
Thus Linga means Linga means the place of dissolution for the world and all beings. It signifies also Satya, Jnana and Ananta—Truth, knowledge and Infinity. It indicates that Lord Siva is endowed with all-pervading and self-luminous nature. Linga is a symbol which makes us understand the various kinds of Artha which are indicated above.
There are six Lingas, viz., Anda Linga, Pinda Linga, Sadasiva Linga, Atma Linga, Jnana Linga and Siva Linga. These Lingas are taken to mean the characteristics by which the Anda (the Universe), Pinda (the body), Sadasiva, etc., are to be recognised and
    understood.
Linga is only the outward symbol of the formless being, Lord Siva, who is the indivisible, all-pervading, eternal, auspicious, ever-pure, immortal essence of this
vast universe, who is the undying Soul seated in the chambers of your heart, who is your In-dweller, innermost Self or Atman, and who is identical with the Supreme Brahman.
